Prayer is powerful.
It changes people’s lives. Prayer slays demons, heals the sick, encourages the despairing, brings the dead back to life.
Prayer is about talking to God, not really asking him anything, simply talking to God. However, God loves to hear our heart’s desires, our needs and wants, and He really want to bless us, to see us happy. That’s why it is important to know how to pray. Prayer is powerful and God honours prayers like these
“But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your father who sees you in secret will reward you.” Matthew 6:6
“Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:12-13 (ESV)
For those who don’t know how to pray:
Make time for at least 5 minutes, either early in the morning when you wake up or just before going to sleep at night, and pray for your future spouse.
If you feel you need to write down a few pointers to pray to help you keep focused, then do so. Look up scriptures on subjects like health, love, finances, or protection to pray over your future spouse.
Sometimes it is nice to write out the prayer and hang it on the wall or stuff it in your journal or Bible so that every time you think of your future spouse or desire to have a boyfriend/girlfriend, then you can pick up that written prayer and pray it out loud.
We might not see the effects of those prayers right now, but one day when you meet your significant other, you will see how God answered your prayers throughout these past weeks, months and years.
Prayer helps lay the foundation for your marriage one day. If you can learn to make it a permanent habbit now in your life, it will be much easier to do the day you are married and possibly have children, as prayer needs to be a vital part of any married person’s life.
